Easy Pasta with Meatballs
This recipe knows no age limit, we all love it at home. It is simple, but you can simplify it further by using ready kafta and skipping the blending. Enjoy!
Ingredients
For the meatballs:
- 500 g minced beef
- ½ small onion finely chopped
- ¼ cup parsley finely chopped (can sub with basil)
- 50 g parmesan cheese grated
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
For the sauce:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ onion finely chopped
- 800-1000 g tomatoes peeled and chopped (can sub with passata)
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 400 g pasta cooked
- More parmesan for topping about 50 g
Instructions
- Form the meatballs by mixing the beef, chopped onion, chopped parsley, parmesan, salt and pepper. Form smallish balls with your hands. A trick you can do to gain time is to get ready-made kafta from the butcher and just mix some parmesan cheese into it. This way you can save time.
- In a large pot, heat up the butter and the olive oil together then cook the meatballs and remove once done.
- In the same pot, using the remainder of the oil / butter, cook the onion for 4-5 minutes then add the garlic. Cook it very briefly before adding the chopped tomatoes and tomato paste. Bring it to a boil. I like to use an immersion blender to get a velvety sauce but feel free to skip this.
- Add the cooked pasta and the cooked meatballs, let it simmer on low heat for 2 minutes. Top with more parmesan and serve. I have a feeling this will be a favorite for kids and adults alike.
