Description
Yesterday’s lunch, mushroom steaks so juicy and flavorful 🤤 Recipe below

Mushroom Steaks
Ingredients
- 4 steaks, preferably filets, resting out of the fridge for 30 minutes, patted dry, and sprinkled with some salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, mashed
- 1 box mushrooms (250 g), preferably brown button, sliced
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 500 ml stock or broth, I used 1 cube veggie stock @kallo
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt, black pepper, thyme, rosemary to taste
Instructions
- Cook the onion in the olive oil until tender. Add the garlic and continue cooking. Add the mushrooms and sprinkle with a bit of salt. Cook on medium high heat.2- When the juices are somewhat reduced add the butter. When it melts, sprinkle the flour and mix.
- On the side, begin cooking your steaks. Make sure they are dry and sprinkled with salt and pepper on both sides. Don’t turn them constantly, a couple minutes on each side should do.
- Back to the mushrooms, add the broth, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and herbs. Easy on the salt, I didn’t need to add more as the broth is already seasoned. Cook until thick and fragrant.
- Add the steaks to the sauce and simmer for a minute. We had this with a fresh salad and some mashed potatoes. Enjoy xx
